Welcome to Park Ridge State School

Park Ridge State School is a Band 9 Independent Public School catering for Prep to Year 6 students. The school is located in the Park Ridge suburb of Logan West in the South East Region of the Department of Education and Training. From its humble beginnings as a single room rural school of ten children and one teacher, Park Ridge State School has evolved into a large, multi-functional campus of 25 classes and approximately 595 students.

Park Ridge State School has embraced the 'Harmony School' concept whereby everyone in the school community works together to create a safe and supportive educational environment. The school utilises a range of programs and activities such as the You Can Do It program to equip students with the skills and competencies to develop social and emotional maturity and to engage children in positive, meaningful experiences to promote school as a fun, enjoyable place .

At Park Ridge State School, we work together as partners to create a dynamic, caring and distinctive school community. Through teamwork, challenge and future-orientated innovation, we model and encourage in all of our students personal excellence, respect, responsibility and a commitment to life long learning.

The school embraces both traditional and modern values. It was first opened in 1895 as a small rural school. Today it serves as a vibrant educational facility linking a community that covers a large physical area. The students at Park Ridge State School come from a diverse range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Within Logan city the school is unique because of its long history.

Given the physical location of Park Ridge State School many children travel considerable distances to school by bus, many arriving early and remaining for a considerable period after school. Other children generally travel to and from school by private transport. A significant number of students attend child care facilities both before and after school. Camp Australia in partnership with the school's P&C Association conduct before and after school care in the community hall adjacent to the school's campus.
