Park Ridge State School is located in the western suburb area of Logan city. The school is situated on the service road, running adjacent to the Mt Lindesay Highway and located opposite the Park Ridge High School.

It services the communities of Park Ridge and the developing areas south along the Mt Lindesay Highway and neighbouring suburbs to the north and west including Boronia Heights and Regents Park. Our school address is 3776 Mt Lindesay Highway, Park Ridge.

Park Ridge Provisional School first opened 23 April, 1895 with a total of 19 pupils and one teacher. The school, then located near Rosia Road, became a State School in March 1909. Due to the poor state of its ant-ridden building the school relocated to an alternative building situated on one acre of land at the current site.

The school offers learning programs implementing the Australian Curriculum. Students in Years 5 and 6 study German and over a long standing period, the school's students have been successful in German Verse Speaking Competitions. An innovative curriculum is delivered utilising our eLe@rn BYO Apple iPad program. There is a strong emphasis on effective Literacy and Numeracy Teaching and Learning Programs. Additionally the school has implemented a whole school targeted intervention and learning support program which is reviewed and revised yearly.
Teaching staff have embraced Professional Learning Community Practice as a whole school improvement strategy where teachers form Year level Professional Learning Teams to collaborate in improving student learning and achievement. Also included in the programs offered is a fully staffed Special Education Program to cater for the learning needs of Students with Disabilities.

Today it serves as a vibrant educational facility linking a community that covers a large physical area. The students at Park Ridge State School come from a diverse range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Within Logan city the school is unique because of its long history.
Given the physical location of Park Ridge State School many children travel considerable distances to school by bus, many arriving early and remaining for a considerable period after school. Other children generally travel to and from school by private transport. A significant number of students attend child care facilities both before and after school. Camp Australia in partnership with the school's P&C Association conduct before and after school care in the community hall adjacent to the school's campus.
